Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has arrived on Disney Plus, giving many fans the opportunity to revisit the journey and others to experience it for the first time. A real-life bus operator from San Francisco's Muni bus line was among the individuals seeing the film for the first time when it began streaming and decided to write a step-by-step analysis of the epic bus fight scene on social media. What he didn’t know at the time was that his rant would go viral.
Using the handle @that_mc, the Twitter user, who goes by the name Mack, began his thread when he sat down to watch Marvel Studios' Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. He revealed that he was “finally watching Shang-Chi, here as a bus operator to rate the SFT transit factors of The Bus Scene.”
After he was done analyzing the scene, Simu Liu, who plays Shang-Chi in the film, noticed the thread and commented that it was “f**king amazing.” This got the thread a lot of attention from several of Liu’s followers. As part of his rant, Mack included detailed descriptions of the transit system in San Francisco, how accurate (or inaccurate) the bus fight scene in Shang-Chi was, and what would have happened if something like this occurred in real life. He first spoke about the bus itself, its upholstery, and the advertisements, and then shared screenshots of several clips from within the scene and narrated real-life reactions.
It turns out that as a bus operator, Mack would definitely stop the bus the minute the fight broke out. Along with the revelation, he shared a still of when Liu’s Shang-Chi delivers the first punch. As the scene continued, Mack pointed a finger at the bus driver in the scene, portrayed by Michael-Anthony Taylor, for making several mistakes. Some of the most glaring ones were the fact that he was wearing earphones while driving, not wearing his seatbelt, looking over his shoulder, and not hitting the Emergency Brake.
After Liu noticed Mack’s rant, several other Twitter users started commending him for his analysis. Some even requested that he analyze other bus scenes from various Hollywood films. Some even shared YouTube links to these scenes to make it easier for Mack to view them. Overall, fans of Shang-Chi were quite amused by Mack’s analysis of the bus fight and he seems to have won the internet.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is now streaming on Disney Plus.
