Famed supercar maker John Hennessey says he is building a new $3 million posh powerhouse. Code-name “Project Deep Space” has six wheels and runs exclusively on electric power.
“I had wanted to do something in the electrification space, and started thinking about it over 10 years ago. But I couldn’t overcome the fact that with electrified vehicles the batteries are super heavy,” says the founder of the Sealy, Texas-based tuning company that also makes the $2.1 million Hennessey Venom F5 hypercar and modifies 600 additional cars and trucks each year. In 2014, Hennessey’s Venom GT set a 270.49 mph world land speed record.
