Longmont police, while responding to reports of shots fired around 12:15 a.m. Sunday, observed a man pull a woman into his car near Kanemoto Park and speed off.

Police followed and saw him push the woman out of his car while driving at a high rate of speed, Longmont police Deputy Chief Jeff Satur said. The woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, he said.

Police used “stop sticks” to blow out the man’s tires, Satur said. The man was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, assault, vehicular eluding, endangerment, domestic violence and driving under the influence.

No victims were reported in the original shots fired case, though police stopped two cars seen leaving the area of Budd Court and South Pratt Parkway, including one with bullet damage, Satur said. That case remains under investigation.
