11-Year-Old Girl Hit By Car In Union Ridge - Block Club Chicago

UNION RIDGE — An 11-year-old girl was in stable condition after getting hit by a car late Monday afternoon in Union Ridge, according to police.

Police said a 48-year-old woman in an SUV was driving westbound in the 6600 block of West Higgins Avenue around 4:50 p.m. when she hit the girl, who was in the middle of the street.

The girl had blunt force trauma to her body and was transported to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge in stable condition. The driver was cited for failing to reduce her speed, police said.

No further information was immediately available.
