PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) -- Officials say three people were seriously injured and a fourth person sustained possible serious injuries after a car accident outside Sterling Plaza Saturday night.
Just after 11:00 p.m., crews responded to the 3700 block of North Sterling Avenue for a two-vehicle accident with injuries.
One car had three occupants - the rear seat passenger was found lying in street next to vehicle unconscious and one of the two remaining front seat passengers had to be extricated from the car using jaws of life.
Officials say it took around 12 minutes to free the trapped passenger.
All three victims were transported to a local hospital with what officials described as life-threatening injuries.
Officials say the driver of the second vehicle also sustained possible serious injuries, and they were also treated by Peoria Firefighter and Paramedics on scene and en route to a local hospital.
According to officials, both vehicles involved were sedans that sustained major damage. It is believed to be a high-speed collision.
