ATA Bus to begin running loop connecting Aggieville, downtown, Blue Earth Plaza - Manhattan Mercury

Manhattan’s ATA Bus system will start running a quick loop connecting major parts of the city later this month.

The Flint Hills Area Transportation Agency announced Wednesday that buses will run what’s called the District Loop starting Nov. 19.

The District Loop connects Aggieville, Downtown Manhattan and Blue Earth Plaza.

Buses will run this route from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday evenings, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays.

In a statement on their website, ATA Bus officials said this is a new route being piloted to “provide Manhattan residents and visitors the option to visit some of their favorite destinations without the stress or hassle of finding parking.”

Also starting Nov. 19, ATA Bus is waiving the fare for all Friday and Saturday bus services.

Masks are required to be worn by bus riders per federal law.
