UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio -- OVI: Warrensville Center Road

At 10:40 a.m. Jan. 11, police received complaints about a car stopped and facing northbound in the southbound lanes of Warrensville Center Road. Police investigated and found that the driver, a Garfield Heights man, 40, was intoxicated. The man was arrested and charged with OVI.

Menacing by stalking: Meadowbrook Boulevard

At 1:55 a.m. Jan. 11, a woman, 32, reported that her former boyfriend, an East Cleveland man, 38, had been driving by her house and continually calling and sending her text messages. The man was not present when police arrived.

Police gathered information and are investigating.

Stolen auto: University Boulevard

At 1:50 p.m. Jan. 11, a woman, 46, reported that her former husband, 51, refused to return her car. Police are investigating.

Disturbance: Warrensville Center Road

At 1:15 p.m. Jan. 13, police were called to a parking lot where a disturbance involving a man, 59, and woman, 22, was taking place. Both of the parties reside in Shaker Heights.

Although the two argued, officers found no signs of injuries. The woman, however, experienced shortness of breath and was treated by paramedics. Neither person was charged.

The matter has been referred to the city prosecutor to determine if charges should be filed.

Traffic offense: Warrensville Center Road

At 9:10 p.m. Jan. 13, an officer stopped a car that had but one working headlight. It was subsequently found that the driver, a Cleveland man, 43, had a suspended license. The man was cited for the non-working headlight and DUS, and also for driving without a license.

Disturbance: Ashurst Road

At 7:55 p.m. Jan. 14, a man, 36, reported that he had a heated argument with his live-in girlfriend, 31. The man requested police assistance to remove his property from the home.

Disorderly conduct: Bradford Road

At 9:55 p.m. Jan. 14, police were called to the intersection of Bradford and Ashurst roads on a report of a man throwing construction signs. Officers recognized the man as an 18-year-old Tyndall Road resident. It was determined that the man did no damage and he was returned to his residence.
