OAKLAND — A woman was shot at least once and a person was detained after a shooting in an East Oakland neighborhood, authorities said Friday.

Shortly before 11:35 p.m., officers responded to reports of ShotSpotter activity at Hillside and Ritchie streets in the city’s Eastmont neighborhood.

When officers arrived, they found a black party bus that had been struck multiple times in a parking lot and learned that a vehicle had left the scene with a woman struck by gunfire.

Minutes later, the woman arrived at an area hospital. No information about the victim’s condition, as well as a suspect or associated vehicle, was immediately available Friday night.

Investigators were working to block off streets near the intersection, re-routing bus and other traffic, in order to collect evidence including a firearm recovered near the bus and multiple casings recovered in the 7600 block of MacArthur Boulevard.

Police were not able to confirm preliminary reports that at least one person at the scene had been taken into custody.

For information leading to the arrest of a suspect, police are offering up to $5,000 in the shooting. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers of Oakland at 510-777-8572.
