JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A car went over the side of the concrete wall of the Dames Point Bridge following a crash with another car in the southbound lanes, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident happened around 8:45 p.m.
Troopers said the 27-year-old driver of the vehicle that went over the side was able to exit his vehicle and had only minor injuries. The vehicle landed in only about 5-6 feet of water.
The second driver was not injured.
All southbound lanes on I-295 were closed for an hour while JFRD got the driver out of the water and cleared the scene. All lanes reopened around 9:40 p.m.
