LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The extreme cold can create problems for your car.
But there are a few things you can do to keep it running through sub-zero temperatures.
A good rule of thumb is to keep your fuel tank at least halfway full.
This prevents condensation build-up, which could freeze your gas lines.
Another tip, make sure you run your vehicle daily to keep the battery charged.
One local mechanic said the number one thing to do is staying to date with oil changes and other general maintenance.
“If your car isn’t maintained there’s a greater possibility your car isn’t going to start,” said Don Stoeckly, President of Don’s Towing & Repair.
Stoeckly said Monday his team has been working around the clock since the cold snap started.
