A 56-year-old driver was killed after his car crashed and overturned in the White Rock neighborhood early Saturday morning, Dallas police say.

Witnesses said a gray Chevrolet Silverado was going south in the 9900 block of Garland Road, near Peavy Road, about 12:20 a.m. when the car tried to swerve around another vehicle and sped into the center median. The car then crashed into trees and overturned, witnesses told police.

The car rolled and stopped on the northbound lanes in the 9800 block of Garland Road.

The driver, Mark Blanton, 56, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
