A car drove onto a sidewalk near a Halloween party in Long Beach and struck six people early Sunday, Oct. 31, authorities said.
Officers were initially dispatched to the 1300 block of Orange Avenue, near Anaheim Street, at 2:43 a.m. Sunday regarding an “unknown trouble” call. They learned that a man who had been in a domestic dispute with a woman at the party struck her and several bystanders with a blue sedan, the Long Beach Police Department said.
“She backed away from the dispute and was standing on the sidewalk,” Police spokeswoman Allison Gallagher said. “He then got into the vehicle and hit her, as well as five other people.”
The sedan then drove away and was last seen going northbound on Orange Avenue. He was still at large on Sunday.
Paramedics rushed five adults and one minor to hospitals. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening.
