SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Man reports credit card, car loan fraud - The Pioneer

MECOSTA COUNTY — The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following calls.

All calls may not be reported.

Tuesday, Oct. 5

• A suspicious complaint involving a letter from an inmate in the jail to the court was reported.

• A civil matter was reported in the 1000 block of Millbrook Road in Millbrook Township. A woman changed the locks at the residence and another woman went through the bedroom window to go inside and get some items. The women were fighting over property.

• Suspicious activity was reported in the 19000 block of Merritt Avenue in Chippewa Township. A man called because he thought he heard someone in the house. Deputies checked outside and inside of the residence and found no sign anyone was there or was there.

• A traffic stop was performed near East Wheatland and North Sheridan in Wheatland Township. The stop, which was for no plate, resulted in a driver being arrested for a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear. She was lodged at the Mecosta County Jail.

• A property damage crash was reported near 90th Avenue and 9 Mile Road in Morton Township.

• A traffic stop was performed near Cass and Seventh streets in Aetna Township. The no plate stop resulted in a driver being issued an appearance ticket for no insurance.

• A car vs. deer crash was reported near 110th Avenue and 19 Mile Road in Chippewa Township.

Wednesday, Oct. 6

• Malicious destruction of property was reported in the 3000 block of 9 Mile Road. A mailbox and post was destroyed Oct. 1.

• A fraud complaint was reported in the 17000 block of 230th Avenue in Big Rapids Township. A caller had an unknown person take a credit card out in his name and also apply for a car loan.

• A property damage crash was reported near 90th Avenue and 17 Mile Road.

• A property damage crash was reported near Northland Drive and Tanglewood Street.

• A retail fraud complaint that occurred Sept. 7 at Walmart was filed. The suspect is a known criminal in the area. The incident remains under investigation.

• A property damage crash was reported near Jefferson Road and 150th Avenue.

• A car vs. deer crash was reported near 20 Mile Road and 80th Avenue in Chippewa Township.
