A driver was injured when a stolen pickup truck being pursued by police slammed into her car in Endwell.
The crash on Country Club Road near Stark Avenue happened shortly after 2:30 p.m. Monday.
A person familiar with the incident said the pickup truck had been taken from its owner in Endicott just minutes earlier.
The man who owned the truck was hurt in what was described as a hit-and-run incident on Watson Boulevard just west of McKinley Avenue. A witness said the man sustained a serious leg injury.
A state trooper spotted the stolen vehicle and tried to pull it over but the driver did not stop.
The truck - a white Ram pickup - was eastbound on Country Club Road when it smashed into a compact blue Chevrolet sedan. The woman who was driving the car was injured.
The man who had been driving the stolen vehicle - who was said to be about 20 years old - fled on foot after the crash. He reportedly was apprehended by police a short time later.
No information was available about the suspect or the injured people from Endicott police or state police.
