Trespassing: West Bagley Road

A Norwalk woman, 22, was cited and taken to a hospital at about 5:30 p.m. Sept. 24 after she was found in the driver’s seat of someone else’s car, which was parked outside Berea Farmers Exchange, 394 West Bagley.

The car belonged to a Berea Farmers Exchange worker. The worker asked the woman why she was in her car, which had been unlocked. The woman said the car belonged to her friend, not the worker. The woman then stepped out of the car and walked toward Nam Wah Chinese & Vietnamese Cuisine on West Bagley to use the restroom.

The woman left Nam Wah and entered Dollar General on West Bagley, where police found her in the restroom. She was confused and disoriented and thought she was in Norwalk. She said she had come to Berea with a man, with whom she had argued, and that he had stranded her.

In the woman’s purse, police found two glass vials with residue, a glass container and a hypodermic needle cap.

Operating a vehicle under the influence: East Bridge Street

A Middleburg Heights man, 38, was arrested at about 9:30 p.m. Sept. 27 after he crashed his vehicle into a utility pole on eastbound East Bridge.

The man smelled like alcohol. He admitted that he had been drinking and said he knew it was wrong. He failed field sobriety tests.

Operating a vehicle under the influence: Runn Street

A Cleveland man, 27, was arrested at about 4:30 a.m. Sept. 27 after police caught him driving drunk on several streets.

Police stopped the man’s Jeep Liberty after checking his license plate number and determining the plates had expired. They also learned the man was wanted for a probation violation in Berea.

The man smelled like alcohol and his speech was slurred. He failed field sobriety tests.

Driving an unsafe vehicle, marijuana possession: Prospect Road & Greenfield Court

Police stopped a vehicle traveling with its front hood raised while southbound on Prospect near Greenfield at about 3:30 a.m. Sept. 27.

The driver, a 27-year-old Berea woman, said the hood popped up after her vehicle hit a deer. Police found fur on the vehicle’s front end. They also noticed a glass pipe and a baggie of marijuana in her vehicle.

Police warned the woman about driving an unsafe vehicle and confiscated the marijuana and pipe. The woman said she would park the car overnight at her mother’s house on Greenfield.

Driving with a suspended license, marijuana possession: West Bagley Road

A Berea man, 20, was cited for driving without a license at about 5 p.m. Sept. 27 on West Bagley near Baker Street.

Police stopped the man’s car after seeing him cut off another driver and fail to use his turn signal. The car smelled like marijuana. Police found and confiscated a small bag of marijuana in the car.
