Elwood Stambaugh, 46, died Friday after he slipped on ice and was pinned under the tire of his car, according to the York County Coroner’s Office.
Police think Stambaugh, of Davidsburg Road in Dover Township, had his car in drive when he exited it. Once he was outside the car, he slipped on ice, which is when it rolled on top of him. His legs were pinned by a tire.
He passed away from his injuries around 1:25 p.m. after being transported to WellSpan York Hospital, where he received medical treatment.
There will be no autopsy, but a routine toxicology report will be obtained.
Northern York Regional Police responded to the incident.
