NEW HARTFORD — Three students were hospitalized after a motor vehicle crash caused a school bus to tip over outside the House of the Good Shepherd Friday afternoon, according to law enforcement officials.
Police said bus driver Rachel A. Clark, 40, pulled out of the House of the Good Shepherd onto Champlin Avenue at about 2:52 p.m. when her bus was struck by a southbound vehicle, driven by Paige R. Rice, 23.
The collision caused the Fort Plain School bus to tip onto its side.
Three students on the bus suffered minor injuries and were helped off the bus by rescue personnel, authorities said. They were taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica. Police said Clark was also hospitalized, for evaluation only. Rice was not injured.
Clark was ticketed for failure to yield and is scheduled to appear in Town Court, authorities stated.
