MADISON, Wis. — Madison police are investigating after a group of teenage boys totaled a stolen car Tuesday afternoon.

According to an incident report, witnesses told police a car, which was reported as stolen out of McFarland, was driving at nearly 100 miles per hour on Agriculture Drive when the driver blew through the intersection of Femrite Drive around 1:30 p.m.

The report said the stolen car went “flying” into the air. Police said the driver lost control of the car when it landed and took out a traffic sign.

Witnesses told authorities the car then drove at nearly 60 miles per hour into a marsh where four teens gout and started running.

Police said they found two passengers: 13- and 14-year-old boys, both of whom complained of back pain and requested medical assistance.

Authorities searched for the other passenger and the Carr’s driver, but said they we’re able to escape.

The report said it took more than an hour to extract the stolen car from the march.
