While visiting Jimmy Fallon on 'The Tonight Show' Wednesday night, the comedian reflected on how she helped a man who was stranded in the Hudson River.

Tina Fey has had her fair share of accomplishments while quarantined during the novel coronavirus pandemic.

While visiting Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show Wednesday night, the comedian reflected on how life has been the last few months, when she shared some exciting news.

"I got my first car during quarantine," she told Fallon, admitting that the thought never crossed her mind because she has been reliant on subways and buses while living in New York. Hoping to "have some agency" to get around given the subways were closed, Fey sought to purchase her first car.

Despite her husband's advice to pick a "fun car," suggesting a Mini Cooper, Jeep or BMW, Fey said she had her mind made up on a Subaru Forester.

"I want a car that looks like a medical sneaker," she quipped of the "basic" car, laughing as she said her 15-year-old daughter informed her that her car looks like a "Karen car." "I’m naming her Karen. No one in the family finds it humorous that I named the car."

In addition to the big purchase, Fey also reflected on a surreal moment she unknowingly saved someone's life.

Fey explained that to escape from the city, she and her family rented a house near the Hudson River. On the first morning of staying at the rented home, Fey said she was drinking her coffee on the front porch when she heard a peculiar noise. "I just hear something going 'help,' " she said, recalling how she couldn't figure out whether it was a person or a bird.

After asking her family to listen to the noise, they heard the noise again minutes later. Concerned that the noise wasn't a bird, they called the cops.

"The cops take off and then we found out a couple of hours later that it was a guy who flipped a kayak in the Hudson and was floating. They found him a mile north in the river," she said.

Amazed with her story, Fallon applauded Fey for saving someone.

"I saved a man’s life. He doesn’t know but it was us," she said while acknowledging how crazy the chain of events was.

Fey also couldn't help but poke fun at the situation when she questioned why anyone would kayak. "The Hudson? That’s not a stream. It’s like a rat toilet!"
