A head-on collision on a Lancaster County highway killed a toddler and critically injured his five family members last weekend, Pennsylvania State Police said.
A driver who was headed east Dec. 12 on Route 372 in Martic Township crossed the double-yellow lines and careened head-on into the vehicle carrying the family, according to state police.
A 23-month-old boy in the family’s car was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three other children were in the family’s car, state police said. All of the occupants had to be extricated and each had critical injuries.
State police said the driver of the vehicle that caused the crash had a broken wrist. An adult passenger was also critically injured.
Rawlinsville Fire Co. and Wakefield EMS assisted at the scene.
