EAU CLAIRE (WQOW) - Traveling has become a little easier here in the Chippewa Valley, with a new service that can bring you from Eau Claire to the Minneapolis airport for Sun Country flights.
You can now book your trip on Sun Country's website and select "EAU" as your departing location. Then, instead of that initial departure being on a plane, it will be in a SUV driven by the transit company Landline.
A week before your departure, Landline will call you to plan your pickup. You can be picked up at your home if its within Eau Claire city limits, or they can also pick you up at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport.
It costs $75 more for your ticket compared to the same trip booked only out of Minneapolis, but CEO of Landline David Sunde said it's all about the convenience.
"Driving yourself is easy but getting driven is even easier," he said. "Our cars have Wi-Fi, they have on board streaming entertainment so you can watch a movie, check your email, have a stress free trip instead of dealing with weather, or traffic."
He also said the new option aims to make traveling easier for people in smaller cities.
