A man was killed late Saturday after the speeding car he was in smashed into the back of a bus at a stop in the Bronx, according to cops.
Photos from the crash site on Bartow Avenue show a silver Nissan Maxima totally crumpled at the front from where it slammed into the back of the MTA bus at around 11:15 p.m.
It was going at a “high rate of speed” and crashed into the back of the bus as it sat at a stop, leaving the bus driver and two passengers with minor injuries, according to the NYPD.
The Nissan’s 20-year-old male driver and his unidentified male passenger were both rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, the NYPD said.
The passenger was pronounced dead while the driver remained in critical condition, police said. Neither had been identified early Sunday.
The bus driver and two passengers who sustained minor injuries all refused medical attention at the scene, the NYPD said.
The NYPD Collision Investigation Squad is still probing the crash.
