PEOSTA, Iowa (KWWL) - A child is recovering in the hospital after being hit by a car Monday evening in Peosta.
According to Peosta Police, about 5 p.m., crews were called to Peosta Community Parkway for a report of a child vs. car accident.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered 18-year-old Camdyn Penick of Franklin Grove, Illinois had been traveling northbound when a 10-year-old ran out from behind a parked car and was hit by Penick's vehicle.
The 10-year-old was transported to a local hospital and later UIHC for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, according to authorities.
The accident remains under investigation.
