The Minnesota House Transportation Committee passed a bill Tuesday which gives school districts and school bus companies the legal authority to install security cameras on the outside of buses including stop arms.
Right now, many school districts and bus companies already use security cameras, however, there are dozens that don't out of legal concerns surrounding privacy issues. This bill is designed to alleviate those concerns giving all bus companies and school districts the legal authority, under state statute, to install the cameras.
