In another sign of transportation rebounding during the pandemic, local bus lines have announced new services between the Lehigh Valley and New York City.
Starting today, Trans-Bridge Lines added two new routes to its Allentown/Clinton/ New York City schedule.
Run 109 eastbound to New York operates Monday through Thursday, beginning at Wescosville Park and Ride, with stops in Hellertown and at the Clinton Park and Ride in New Jersey. The run arrives at Port Authority Bus Terminal, at Eighth Avenue and 41st Street, at about 9:20 a.m.
Run 146 westbound from New York operates Monday through Friday, leaving the Port Authority Bus Terminal and stopping at Clinton, the Hellertown Park and Ride, Lehigh Valley International Airport, and the Wescosville Park and Ride.

“We have added these routes as a result of passenger feedback and trends in travel,” Trans-Bridge Lines President Tom JeBran said in a news release. “Our team continuously gauges information from all sources during this post-pandemic period.”
Starting Tuesday, Klein Transportation will run its New York City commuter service seven days a week.
The bus line has stops at Douglassville, Reading, and Kutztown in Berks County, and Wescosville, and Hellertown in the Lehigh Valley, and an evening departure from New York City. There will be two departures each way on Friday and Sunday.

Federal mandates still require passengers to wear face masks or coverings on public transportation, regardless of vaccination status.
The Transportation Security Administration’s mask requirement is in effect through Sept. 13, and requires masks be worn in airports, and on commercial aircraft, trains, subways, buses, and public maritime vessels, including ferries.
