A wanted convict was arrested on warrants and charged with resisting arrest at 2:15 a.m. Friday after he was found trying to hide in the rear passenger area of a car.
A caller spotted Danny L. Ellis Jr., 24, at large, riding as passenger in a white Honda Accord at Speedway, 600 E. Sandusky Ave.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department responded to the area and found the car in the lot of Campbell Landing, 881 E. Sandusky Ave. Octavia L. Robertson, 23, of 881 E. Sandusky Ave., Apt. 207, was in the driver’s seat while the front passenger seat was fully reclined, officers report.
Ellis was soon spotted trying to hide on the rear floorboard.
He was ordered out of the car at gunpoint and he initially followed commands. An officer holstered his handgun and took control of Ellis’ wrists. He then attempted to pull free from the officer but the officer wrapped his arms around Ellis’ upper body while another unholstered a Taser.
Upon seeing the deployed Taser, Ellis complied with officers and was taken to the ground and handcuffed.
He was lodged on felony warrants for felonious assault and abduction plus a Champaign County warrant, an Adult Parole Authority warrant and two Bellefontaine Municipal Court warrants.
Robertson was charged with possession of marijuana after officers located a marijuana cigar in the car.
Two bags with Ellis’ personal items were located in the rear passenger area of the car. There was pill bottle with a prescription pain reliever which Ellis claimed as his.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
• Betty Jo Dolan, 26, at large, and Jakob A. Ford, 26, of 747 County Road 5, Zanesfield, each was lodged in jail on warrants after they were located at 405 Seymour St. around 7 a.m. Thursday.
Dolan was lodged on a parole violation while Ford was arrested for a probation violation.
• Terrance M. Kipker, 37, of 160 Burkhart Ave., Apt. C., was arrested Thursday on a probation violation after a 3:10 p.m. traffic stop in the 200 block of south Main Street.
He was a passenger in a sport utility vehicle operated Angela D. Klinker of Kenton who made an improper turn from southbound Madriver Street onto westbound Sandusky Avenue. She was not issued a traffic citation for the violation.
Kipker was lodged in jail.
Man found injured from fall
Victor L. Medina, 56, of 22 Plumvalley St., was charged with public intoxication after he was found laying on the pavement in the 200 block of west Auburn Avenue around 6:45 p.m. Thursday.
A passing motorist stop their vehicle to block traffic in the westbound lane.
Medina, who was visibly intoxicated and unable to care for himself, had fallen into the street after leaving a nearby residence, officers report, and hit his head on the pavement. He sustained a bleeding, swollen injury to the area above his left eye. A Bellefontaine squad responded and transported Medina to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment.
