Google MapsOne man is dead after police say he was running across an East Side highway Wednesday evening.
Just before 7:30 p.m., San Antonio police received several calls about a man running in and out of lanes of traffic near the 3600 block of Interstate 35, near Splashtown. Several vehicles had to swerve out of the way to avoid hitting the man, police said.

A woman driving a black Mitsubishi said the vehicle in front of her swerved out of the way of the man who was standing in the lane, but she was unable to avoid hitting him. She did swerve and hit a guardrail before coming to a rest of the access road.
She was transported to the hospital with a broken forearm. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are still working to identify the man.
