TOWN OF CARSON, Wis. (WSAW) - The Portage County Sheriff’s Department reports excessive speed and inattentive driving may have been factors in a morning crash involving a school bus.
There were two children on the bus. No one on the bus was injured. The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital.
The crash happened southeast of Junction City in the town of Carson just before 7 a.m. Tuesday. The bus and an SUV were driving on County Road E (Old U.S. Highway 10) near Bayshore Drive. According to the sheriff’s department, the bus was stopped with its stop sign out and lights flashing when it was struck by a vehicle traveling in the same direction.
