Toyota and Purdy Mobility have launched Subscribe + Drive, a membership-based alternative to leasing and owning a vehicles.

Subscribe + Drive, Toyota’s first (and only) vehicle subscription product powered by the company, is putting new car options at customers’ fingertips. The just-launched app-based service gives drivers an alternative to owning or leasing a vehicle, Purdy Mobility announced today. Through a membership-based program, users can pick a Toyota vehicle and schedule its delivery—all without a long-term contract.

The all-inclusive membership includes the cost of a vehicle, registration, routine maintenance, and insurance coverage, according to a statement.

Purdy Mobility calls the flexible program groundbreaking: Members pay a one-time activation fee and a monthly fee to get the ability to switch between vehicles every 60-day period. They can also choose to stay in a favorite vehicle for as long as they want. It’s a 60-day commitment with 60-day renewals. Outside of those stipulations, the membership may be canceled or paused at any time, according to the website. 

The subscription program is operated by Purdy Mobility in three Texas locations: South Toyota in Dallas, Huntsville Toyota, and Bryan College Station Toyota. The new offering is an evolution of YourDriveTexas, which was also operated by Purdy. 

Purdy Mobility, which operates dealerships in Texas and other subscription programs, is part of Costa Rica-based Purdy Motor Group, a business group that’s one of the oldest distributors of Toyota in the world, the company says. Its U.S. operations were rebranded in early 2019 to Purdy Mobility.
