CATS to Increase Frequency for Express Bus Routes
Charlotte, N.C. – On Monday, July 12, CATS will increase frequency for Express bus routes. The following routes will experience an increase in service:
Since March 2020, CATS has been operating minimal levels of Express bus service due to the decrease in ridership during the pandemic. The July 12 frequency improvements are part of CATS' return to work strategy.
"Many of our region's employers are accelerating their return to work plans," said CATS CEO John Lewis. "We're adding frequency to our Express bus routes to accommodate those who commute to work using CATS services."
Through CATS' return to work strategy, staff are focused on responding to transit trends in a post-pandemic world. Other components of the return to work strategy include:
- Ongoing discussions with regional employers regarding shift times
- Continued evaluation of bus service on routes with less frequency
- Planning for future on-demand transit service through CATS' Bus Priority Study
To view the full list of frequency changes, riders should visit ridetransit.org to view or call Customer Service at 704-336-RIDE (7433).
