LYNDHURST, Ohio -- Suspicion: Richmond Road

At 12:30 a.m. May 25, a man reported that he had parked his car in a friend’s driveway and, a short time later, an elderly man in an orange jogging suit “came out of nowhere" and got into his car. The elderly man drove the car several doors down, parked it in a driveway, and walked away.

The man recovered his car. Police searched the area, but could not find the man in the jogging suit. The car’s owner initially called 911, but was connected to Richmond Heights police. He made contact with Lyndhurst police about 10 minutes after the incident took place and as he was driving home.

The man did not wish for police to follow up on the matter.

Overdose: Brainard Road

At 5:45 a.m. May 24, a Kent woman, 18, was driving on Brainard Road when a man ran in front of her car. The man, appeared to be having a psychotic breakdown. The woman asked the man’s name and learned that he had taken acid. She then called police.

It was initially thought that the man was 16, but he was found to be an an 18-year-old who lives in Lyndhurst. Police learned the man’s address, but were unable to contact anyone at his home.

Police took the man to Hillcrest Hospital. The woman called her mother to take her home as the incident had shaken her to the point that she couldn’t drive.

Suspicion: Glenlyn Road

At 8:20 p.m. May 21, a woman notified police that a car was being driven on and around the football field at Brush High School, 4875 Glenlyn Road, and damaging the turf and track. She also stated that there were about 50-75 youths on the field.

Police found that no damage had been done to the field and that no further action was needed.

Psychiatric situation: Ridgebury Boulevard

At 8:25 p.m. May 21, a caller reported that an intoxicated woman was fighting with a man and woman at a Ridgebury Boulevard address. The man and woman had just brought the intoxicated woman, 31, home from a bar.

Police learned that the drunk woman was experiencing suicidal thoughts and took her to Hillcrest Hospital.

Assist person: Acacia Park Drive

At 3:40 p.m. May 21, a woman went to the police station to report that she believed that her apartment had been bugged and that, when she is not at home, there had been suspicious activity taking place in the unit.

Later, at 1:40 p.m. May 23, the woman reported that, after she got out of the shower, she noticed that several things had been moved within her apartment.

Police were told that the woman, 41, had not been taking her medication. Her mother, who lives in the same apartment, was called to tend to the woman.

Domestic violence: Camberly Drive

At 7:25 p.m. May 19, a man, 49, reported that his wife threw papers at him while the two argued. At the time, the man was holding the couple’s baby. The woman, who was not charged, agreed to leave the home, with the baby, for the rest of the evening.

Fraud: Sunview Road

At 1:45 p.m. May 19, a woman, 82, reported that she was the victim of a scam that cost her $2,000. A notice appeared on the woman’s computer screen stating that the device had become infected and that she needed to purchase and send Google Play Cards to the scammer so that the computer could be repaired.

Warrant arrest: South Sedgewick Road

At 6:25 p.m. May 18, a woman reported that her daughter, 23 was at her house and would not leave. There is a criminal trespass warning against the daughter visiting the home.

The daughter was removed from the property and cited for criminal trespassing.
