COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A motorcyclist was killed when he collided with a city bus late Tuesday afternoon.
Police say the bus was making a left turn from northbound North Nevada onto Chambers Street as the southbound motorcyclist approached traveling "extremely fast." The rider crashed into the side of the bus, and despite wearing a helmet, died at the scene. Police tell 11 News excessive speed may have been the cause of the crash.
The crash was reported at 5:20 p.m. The road was shut down for several hours during the investigation.
The city bus was not carrying any passengers at the time of the crash.
