Jackson consolidates, reduces bus routes due to coronavirus pandemic - MLive.com

JACKSON, MI – Bus routes in Jackson have been condensed and reduced during the novel coronavirus pandemic.

The Jackson Area Transportation Authority started the changes Monday, May 4 and they run through May 30, a news release said.

Routes between 6:15 and 10:15 a.m. and then 2:15 and 6:15 p.m. are combined and run as one-hour routes instead of half-hour routes. Between 10:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. routes will run as normal.

The Ganson/Blackman route is running normally, the release said.

In the morning, the West Michigan/East Michigan, Francis/Lansing and Southwest/Cooper routes are affected. For example, West Michigan will start at 6:15 a.m. and then East Michigan will start at 6:45 a.m.

In the afternoon, the routes will change direction. East Michigan will start at 2:15 p.m. and then West Michigan at 2:45 p.m., the release said. The Lansing/Francis and Cooper/Southwest will also change direction.

The Jackson Area Transportation Authority stopped bus routes on Saturdays and Sundays on April 18. The change is in effect for the foreseeable future.
