EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The E'ville Iron Street Rods car club, which has hosted the Frog Follies for the past 45 years, announced on Tuesday this year's car show is canceled.
The annual event has grown to one of the nation's largest showcases of antique iron. Last year's Frog Follies drew thousands of people with 4,000 cars to showcase.
This year, the car show was to take place Aug 23-25 but is being canceled due to concerns around the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

On Facebook, the organization wrote, "It was hard to make this decision considering the proceeds of our shows are given to local organizations that help children and adults with physical impairments... The health and safety of our participants, vendors, sponsors, and more than 50,000 attendees have always been our number one priority."
The club said even if restrictions on large gatherings are lifted by the scheduled showtime, it would not be possible to put in place "all the elements required to execute the quality event we are known for."
They emphasized the decision was made in an effort to do what they believed was best for the community.
Registered vendors and "rodders" will have their 2020 deposits and payments roll over to the 2021 show.

The deadline to request a refund is July 31st, 2020.
