SOLON, Ohio -- OVI: Harper Road
At 1:45 a.m. June 24, as an officer was patrolling the area of Harper and Bainbridge roads, a woman stopped her car, partially in the roadway, and jumped out of the vehicle with her hands up.
The woman, 36, of Riverside, Ga., was found to be intoxicated. She refused to take a breath test. A small amount of marijuana was found in her car. The woman was charged with OVI, but not for a drug offense.
Warrant arrest: Hawthorn Parkway
At 5:45 p.m. June 20, an officer stopped a car being driven without license plates. It was subsequently discovered that the driver, a Garfield Heights man, 31, was driving with a suspended license due to a prior OVI arrest, and was wanted on a Cleveland police warrant.
The man was arrested on the warrant and cited for DUS and the plate violation.
Criminal damage: Arbordale Avenue
At 7:05 a.m. June 19, a woman, 52, reported that someone had slashed a tire on her car as it was parked over night in her driveway.
Criminal damage: Crabtree Lane
At 5:20 a.m. June 19, a woman, 55, reported that someone slashed a tire on her car as it was parked over night in her driveway.
Property damage: Liberty Road
At 11:40 a.m. June 20, a man reported that someone damaged his President Trump flag which had been flying on his property.
Fraud: Deer Run Oval
At 3:45 p.m. June 20, a woman, 39, reported that she arranged online to purchase a puppy. The woman sent a “seller” $950, but did not receive a puppy.
Unruly juvenile: Wintergreen Drive
At 2:30 p.m. June 21, police were called to a home where parents argued with their 15-year-old son over drug use allegations. The boy left home, but was located shortly after.
OVI: Aurora Road
At 2:35 a.m. June 22, an officer stopped a car at Aurora and S.O.M. Center roads as it was being driven without activated headlights. The driver, a Bedford man, 36, failed field sobriety tests, but refused to take a breath test.
The man was arrested for OVI, refusing to take a breath test with an OVI conviction within the past 20 years, driving without a license, and driving without activated headlights.
Aggravated robbery: Aurora Road
At 2:35 p.m. June 22, dispatch received a 911 call from the AT&T store, 33631 Aurora Road. At the scene, officers learned that a male suspect with a gun had used a zip tie to bind the hands of a female employee.
The suspect stole $25,000 worth of merchandise and drove from the store. Theemployee walked to a neighboring store, from where police where 911 was called.
Given a description of the suspect’s car, an officer spotted the vehicle on I-480, near Transportation Boulevard. Arrested was a Cleveland man, 26. The handgun and merchandise were found in the suspect’s car.
