YPSILANTI, MI – Police are investigating claims from a motorist who said he was punched in the face Monday evening after honking his horn at a car in front of him that was stopped at a green light.
At about 6 p.m. June 8, the victim told officers he was behind a vehicle at a traffic light near the 700 block of Green Road when he noticed the light had turned green but the vehicle did not move, according to the Ypsilanti Police Department.
The man said several minutes had passed, so he honked his horn at the car in front of him letting the driver know it was clear to proceed, police said.
The driver of the blocking vehicle got out of his car, walked toward the victim’s car and punched the victim three times in the face before returning to his car and leaving, police said.
Additional suspect and vehicle information is unavailable at this time and the incident remains under investigation.
