Police are investigating after a passenger pulled a knife on a bus driver after being asked to put on a mask.
The incident happened at 4:25 p.m. on July 20, according to a police report. The victim is a 37-year-old Cincinnati Metro driver. The report says an unknown suspect “pulled out his knife and threatened to do harm to her.”
It does not appear anyone was injured.
The Enquirer has requested more details, including video from the bus, but police and Metro have so far denied those requests, saying the incident remains under investigation.
Metro officials have also declined to confirm any details, but Troy Miller, head of the local bus drivers' union, confirmed to The Enquirer that a driver was threatened with a knife and that it was over a mask.
Miller said he watched surveillance video of the incident on Monday. The passenger ended up getting off the bus, he said.
“It’s sad that people gotta deal with this,” he said. “It’s just messed up. The whole thing is messed up.”
