Multiple people were injured and one was killed after a stolen car pursued by Shively Police hit two other vehicles on Crums Lane and Dixie Highway.
The Shively Police Department said it got a call around 11:35 p.m. on Monday about a possible domestic violence situation between a man and woman near a parked car in the parking lot of the Shively Center.
In a statement, Shively Police said they couldn't see the reported victim but as they got closer to the car, which they say was stolen from Shelbyville, it sped away and headed north on Dixie Highway. Police pursued it because, they said in a statement, they feared the reported victim was still in danger.
In the intersection of Dixie Highway and Crums Lane, the car hit two vehicles.
From the first one, a 21-year-old man who was in the back seat was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital and died.

The male driver had minor injuries, the female passenger was ejected from the car and is in critical condition and a 9-month-old baby from the back seat is in critical condition, according to Shively Police.
From the second car, the male driver was "relatively uninjured," a woman had minor injuries and three small children came out of the collision with bumps and bruises, police say.
By the time police got to the intersection, two men had left the stolen car. One, a 17-year-old, was arrested "almost immediately" and charged with fleeing or evading police in both a car and on foot and receiving stolen property valued at more than $10,000.
The other man who fled the stolen car hasn't been found, nor has the woman from the original domestic violence call, police say.
