The workload for Rensselaer school bus drivers like Dennis McClurg has doubled, preparing for fall pick ups and drop offs during the pandemic.
"Everyone is kind of stressed out. What's gunna happen? How's' it going to happen?" said McClurg.
Deeper cleanings to every bus is now required at least once a day.
"It has to be done after each bus run before we pick up new students, for the safety of students and staff," said Transportation Supervisor, Rhonda Greenway.
All bus employees must perform a health assessment before arriving for work and are required to hand out personal protective equipment, including masks.
Many hope the state guidelines get even more specific in the coming weeks.
"Everyday the guidance changes. Everyday they come out with new stuff, now they're saying siblings can sit together which helps," said Greenway.
