CORAL SPRINGS, FL – As Hurricane Isaias approaches South Florida, Coral Springs is closing city facilities and stopping bus service, starting Saturday.
With Coral Springs at risk for tropical-force winds – which are winds greater than 58 mph – city officials said Friday they are closing the following out of caution:
- All city parks
- Aquatic Complex
- Tennis Center
- Community Shuttle Bus
- Waste Transfer Station
In addition, officials said Waste Pro will service those regularly scheduled for Saturday from 6 a.m. to 12 pm. All bins must be secured and put away after 12 p.m. even if they were not serviced.
Depending on Hurricane Isaias’ direct path, officials will determine when to resume services and open parks and facilities.
Residents are reminded to secure items, which could potentially become flying projectiles during the storm, and to clear storm drains to reduce the possibility for roadway flooding.
The city’s call center is operational and will be available Saturday, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. The number is (954) 344-1001.
