A man operating an off-road vehicle on paved surface streets in Colton died after colliding with a parked car Saturday, July 11.
The crash happened along the 2100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue at about 3:27 p.m., Colton Police Department officials in a news release. Responding officers located the man involved in the collision lying in the roadway and suffering from blunt force trauma.
“The vehicle he was riding wasn’t equipped with any safety restraints,” Colton Police Lt. Ray Mendez said.

The injured man was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His identity was withheld Sunday evening, pending the notification of his relatives.
An investigation into the factors leading up to the crash was ongoing as of Sunday evening, Mendez said.
