A Westminster man was killed Thursday when a deer struck by another vehicle went through the windshield of the car he was in.
The deer was initially hit by Kellen Carnes, who was driving southbound along MD-97 when the deer appeared in the road. The deer then flew to the northbound side of the highway upon impact, careening through the windshield of the 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Lindsay Stull. Her passenger, Jason Blair, was killed after getting hit by the deer.
Neither Carnes nor Stull were injured. The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m., closing the MD-97 in both directions.
Maryland State Police are further investigating the incident.
