A man was killed after crashing his car into a tree in San Jose on Saturday morning, police said.

The man was driving a 2005 Toyota Scion east on Branham Lane at Sidlaw Court, lost control and hit a tree at about 9:40 a.m.

He was pronounced dead at the crash site. No one else was in the car and police have not yet released his name.

His death was the city’s 33rd traffic fatality of the year. Police are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the San Jose Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Unit at 408-277-4654.
