A 23-year-old man was killed Wednesday night after crashing his motorcycle into the back of a stopped car on a Northwest Side frontage road, according to San Antonio police.

Police said Daniel Santiago was riding his 2001 Kawasaki ZX-1000C in the 5200 block of Loop 410 just before 9:30 p.m., when the accident occurred. As he was approaching the Evers Road intersection, police said he didn't see a line of cars just past the steep crest of the hill.

Police said Santiago was riding behind two Mustangs who both narrowly avoided hitting the last car in the line, a 2017 Subaru WRX.

Santiago laid down his motorcycle and slid into the back of the stopped Subaru, police said. He was wearing a helmet but was pronounced dead at the scene about a half hour later.

Police said Santiago's girlfriend, who was at the scene, identified him.

Criminal charges are not expected to be filed.
