Regional transit agency officials hope to speed up trips, keep buses on time and help riders more safely board buses by adjusting routes of two bus lines in downtown Oregon City.
Line 33-McLoughlin/King Road and Line 99-Macadam/McLoughlin will be affected by the changes beginning Sunday, Dec. 6
Currently, Line 33 uses Railroad Avenue to travel northbound between McLoughlin Boulevard and Ninth Street. The new route moves Line 33 from Railroad Avenue to Main Street for both northbound and southbound trips. Two bus stops will be replaced with a new, ADA accessible stop at Main and Eighth streets. The new stop features a transit curb extension built as part of Oregon City's $815,000 Main Street Improvements Project completed in 2011.
Longtime bus riders will recognize the new route for Line 99, which restores bus service on Singer Hill Road that had run along there through 2011. The route will move buses from Washington Street, 12th Street, 15th Street and Main Street, over to Singer Hill Road, Seventh Street and 10th Street. It eliminates a half mile of travel and will help speed up trips and keep buses and riders on time, except when buses get stuck behind a train on Singer Hill Road.
