SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Endangering children: Chagrin Boulevard

At 3:45 p.m. May 6, police checked on a woman who had passed out behind the wheel of a running, but parked car. The woman had been drinking.

An opened bottle of alcohol was found in the car. The woman’s daughter, 7, who was unrestrained, was a passenger in the auto.

The woman was charged with having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and child endangering.

Theft: Lee Road

At 11:45 a.m. May 1, a woman, 29, went to the police station, 3355 Lee Road, to report that someone stole from her porch a delivered package that contained a computer valued at $600.

Theft: Chagrin Boulevard

At 10:25 a.m. May 2, the store manage at Walgreen’s, 16400 Chagrin Blvd., reported a male shoplifting. Police detained for theft a Richmond Heights man, 34. The man stole coffee and energy drink worth a total value of $10.

Warrant arrest: Warrensville Center Road

At 11:55 a.m. May 3, using a license plate reader, an officer detained a Cleveland man, 40, who was wanted on a burglary warrant.

Endangering children: Tolland Road

At 4:50 p.m. May 3, police were told of a child left in a parked car. The car’s windows were rolled up.

Responding officers found two children, ages 1 and 4, in the auto. Police detained and cited for child endangerment a 20-year-old Bedford woman, a relative of the children.

Felonious assault: Chagrin Boulevard

At 3 a.m. May 4, as an officer watched, a Cleveland man, 23, crashed his car into an auto being driven by a Maple Heights woman, 20. The man then drove away.

Police learned that the couple share a child. The woman was treated for minor injuries. Police are investigating the matter.

Assist other agency: Chadbourne Road

At 11:05 a.m. May 5, Philadelphia police requested a welfare check at a Shaker Heights home. At the home, the SHPD found a girl, 17, missing from Philadelphia.

Disturbance: Warrensville Center Road

At noon May 6, a Spectrum cable worker reported that the owner of a Warrensville Center Road apartment complex placed immobilization devices on both of his truck’s rear tires. The apartment owner is a Solon man, 61.
