The Regional Transportation District says regular transit service will resume in downtown Denver early Sunday morning.
RTD curtailed bus service Saturday out of concern that vehicles could become trapped during another day of large protests. The move meant two dozen lines ran on detours to miss the downtown core. Light rail service in that portion of the city was also suspended.
More protests are planned for Sunday and transit service could still be affected.
“RTD staff, however, will continue to monitor the situation throughout the day to determine if it is necessary to revise service due to any additional activities downtown,” a statement from the transit district noted.
Bus and rail service were shut down entirely downtown for several days early on inthe protests.
