Good Question: What are the rules for school buses? - WHEC

rintihoh.blogspot.com

Yes, we can. Here's the baseline from the state.

Everyone has to wear a mask on the bus (unless there's a medical exemption). You also have to spread out unless your child is sitting with a brother, sister, or cousin who lives at your house.

Bus companies can install sneeze guards by the driver, or in between kids' seats to protect them and bump up capacity.

All buses have to be cleaned at least once a day.

All drivers and workers must do self-screenings before getting on the bus. Any staff with direct contact with kids on buses has to wear gloves too. Transportation departments have to give you things like masks and gloves if you work on a bus.

One thing not allowed on school buses? Hand sanitizer.

State guidelines state:

“School buses shall not be equipped with hand sanitizer due to its combustible composition and potential liability to the carrier or district. School bus drivers, monitors and attendants must not carry personal bottles of hand sanitizer with them on school buses.”
