Maryland Weather: MTA Bus Caught In Floodwater In NE Baltimore With Passengers On Board - CBS Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — An MTA bus got caught in floodwaters in northeast Baltimore Wednesday evening, police said.

The Baltimore Police Department said the bus got stuck when it drove through high water in the area of 35th Street and Hillen Road around 5:20 p.m.

Officials responded to the scene to get passengers off the bus. Everyone made it off safely.

A person was also rescued from a vehicle in the area, police said.

Much of Maryland saw severe thunderstorms move through Wednesday evening, leaving behind widespread damage and thousands without power.

More than 18,000 outages were reported at the peak of the storm. BGE said its crews served more than 1,300,000 customers.

Severe storms are possible on Thursday as well, as the heatwave continues across Maryland. WJZ’s Meg McNamara said relief is on the way for the weekend.
