SPRINGFIELD – A 39-year-old motorcycle rider was killed in a collision with a car Saturday night.
The collision occurred at about 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of State Street and Blunt Park Road. The man who was driving the motorcycle was brought to Baystate Medical Center by ambulance where he later died, said Ryan Walsh, police spokesman.
A passenger on the motorcycle and the driver of the car suffered minor injuries in the crash, he said.
The driver of the car remained at the scene. The crash is being investigated by the department’s traffic unit, he said.
The Fire Department also responded to the collision, fire officials said.
